Evaluation of Biochemical and Physiological Changes in Sweet Corn Seeds under Natural Aging and Artificial Accelerated Aging

Sweet corn seeds are sensitive to storage due their low starch content and poor seed vigor. Therefore, it is important understand physiological biochemical behavior during prolong longevity prevent the loss of The purpose this study was elucidate changes in sweet storage. Artificial accelerated aging natural were applied 19 inbred lines. We found that GP, GR VI decreased as proceeded. characteristics three days after artificial (AA3d) eight months (NA8M) evaluated. contents GA, ABA, malondialdehyde amylase activity AA3d NA8M showed significant differences among lines, while total protein nonsignificant or small differences. lines a difference between antioxidant enzymes. A correlation analysis germination rate significantly negatively correlated with ABA seeds, SOD positively GI seeds. This provides useful catalog offering insights for future genetic improvement corn’s tolerance.
